Welcome! I am an Assistant Professor of English Composition and a Composition Coordinator at Youngstown State University. My experience and specialties are in writing program administration, composition theory and pedagogies, student success programs, writing centers, and supporting diverse student populations. As a teacher, researcher, and administrator, I focus on the transition to college, particularly through student engagement in composition courses and success programs. I have ten years of experience teaching composition and four years of administrative leadership experience in writing programs and writing centers.
My most current research project examines student transitional experiences to higher education in summer bridge programs. My work has been published in Composition Studies, Composition Forum and Community Literacy Journal. I co-founded and taught in the Prison Education Project, which provides opportunities for incarcerated students in the Arizona State Prison to take first-year writing courses. If you'd like to connect, please look to the top of the CV for my contact information. |
